Evciler Shist

Metamorphic rocks belonging to the cover schists of the Menderes Massif are observed around the Eviler village. These rocks generally consist of fine-grained rocks such as mica schist, quartz-muscovite schist, quartzite schist, garnet schist, chlorite schist, and their ages are more than 300 million years. Around the Eviler village, the cover schists of the Menderes massif form strange rocks that extend perpendicularly at an angle of 45-60 degrees to the ground surface. Sedimentary layers buried deep in the ground due to violent ground movements in past geological periods have undergone regional metamorphism and tectonic deformations under high temperature and pressure. These rocks, which come to the surface under the influence of tectonic movements and abrasion, have decomposed in varying amounts along their weak zones, creating interesting rock formations.
