Salihli Deputy Mayor Mahmut Süreyya Karaoğlu said, "Adala, also known as Hermos Canyon, is an original and interesting region where the youngest rocks of Anatolia, consisting of the lava of the Tiger Volcano, are located, and on one side is one of the oldest rock masses." He said, "The region we are in is Salihli. and Kula region is a very important region in terms of tourism with its historical, touristic and natural beauties. In addition, there are volcanic lands and basalt columns. Kula Salihli geopark, the first and only geopark area of Turkey and the Turkish Republics, is a region included in the UNESCO Global Geopark Network. We are in a region that has not been explored until now and is waiting to be discovered from now on. In this sense, the cleanliness of our historical touristic places is also important. It is important for institutions, municipalities and local governments to clean these areas. We are trying as much as we can. But it is much more important for civil initiatives, non-governmental organizations and citizens to keep these places clean and clean in terms of responsibility. We are here today for such a beautiful event. "Our friends from Salihli and Kula, our different groups, and our walking groups are here for cleaning."

“WE ARE HERE TO PROTECT OUR ENVIRONMENT AND NATURE”

Sardes Nature Sports Mountaineering Club Board Member Sadık Şentürk, who participated in the environmental cleaning event, said, “We are here to protect and protect our environment, nature, air and water. Because we walk in this nature, in these mountains, on these paths. We come to these regions on Sundays to take a breather. But what we see really saddens us. We encountered a lot of waste even within just 100 meters. Apart from this, there is also garbage in places we cannot reach. It takes many years for this garbage to decompose in nature. It harms nature. It causes fire. It even causes some animals to die. As long as everyone is responsible for their own cleanliness, I think our nature will become even more beautiful. In other words, the flow of that waterfall, the extraordinary beauty are places that we all search for but cannot find. “Many people long for places like this.” said.

Geopark Tourism Officer Ali Karataş said, “The purpose of holding this event is to raise environmental awareness. We carried out cleaning here with the participation of many non-governmental organizations. We know that this environmental cleanliness and awareness is not a job that can be done in an hour or two. Our people need to be aware of this issue. We must keep our geopark and our environment in general clean. "We collected approximately 100 bags of garbage in our activity, which started around 9 in the morning." said.

Salihli Deputy Mayors Mahmut Süreyya Karaoğlu, Metin Durmaz, Salihli Municipality Social Aid Affairs Manager Hüsamettin Çelik, Salihli Municipality Cleaning Affairs Manager Rasim Pasha, Salihli Women's Enterprise Production and Business Cooperative officials attended the event.
