International Geomorphology Symposium (UJES) 2022 Held in Kula and Salihli

National Geomorphology Symposiums (UJES) have been held every two years since 2008. The last of these meetings was held internationally on 10-12 October 2019, hosted by Ankara University Department of Geography. Geoscientists from Turkey and abroad held a scientific event themed Geoparks for the Future at Kula-Salihli UNESCO Global Geopark. The symposium, which was postponed in 2021 due to the pandemic, was held in Kula and Salihli in 2022.
Educators and earth scientists from the Geography departments of universities and abroad attended the symposium, and this year, Prof. from Newcastle University. Dr. Darrel Maddy and Global Geoparks Network President Nikolas Zouros attended as invited speakers from abroad. This year's symposium was organized with the support of the Geomorphology Association and the mayors of the 3 municipalities that make up the Geopark Municipalities Union (Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cengiz Ergün, Kula Mayor Hüseyin Tosun and Salihli Mayor Zeki Kayda).
The symposium, which started on Thursday, October 6, 2022, ended with a field trip on Saturday, October 8, which was the last day.
